I Have Found A New Love

I actually enjoy cooking.
There is something joyful about creating something delicious.

It is seeing ingredients slowly build together to create something I get to enjoy.

Plus I think Garett enjoys me cooking too.

It's exciting from the beginning as I pick out the ingredients at the store in preparation for something yummy.

This is normally where Garett gives me funny looks as a I resist the urge to jump up and down in the store as my taste buds are anxious to enjoy this food.

Even better is attempting to recreate my mother's recipes. Not gonna lie, it is hard to recreate 20 years of perfecting my mom's recipe. It still went rather well regardless.

This is where I say YUM!!!!

Sometimes Garett decides it is his turn to cook. He makes stew that is DELICIOUS. He tries to pretend like it is no big deal, but actually it's quite impressive. ;D

A new recipe I have been trying which is a Veggie Rotini Pasta Salad and it was DELICIOUS and somewhat addicting.

Garett and I got in a baking mood and made 72 tiny cupcakes. Cute huh? Oh and homemade icing. =]

Some where regular icing (lighter colors). The darker were hot cocoa flavored and VERY good. =]

Then after he devours everything I/we make, he likes to curl up and take a nap. Apparently my lap makes a good pillow. But I don't mind because as long as he is with me, I am happy. =]

I'm sad to say Garett does not like me taking pictures when he sleeps. But what else is there to do when my man is napping? Regardless he's so cute when he naps and I have to keep record of these moments or one day I might forget.

Anyway hope you're having a lovely day!

Take your shoes off and just dance!

So this week I have learned the importance of music! Music changes everything, your mood and view of everything. I have gotten into a habit of listening to music when I walk places and the next thing I know, I have an extra hop in my step and and want to dance like life is one big musical! Ah if I could only dance around without people staring at me. Sadly I doubt my roommates would dance with me out in public....but maybe I should ask....=]

Well I guess I should catch you up from last weekend. Not much happened except Alisa's Birthday Party! SO here it goes, quick overview because I am LAZY today due to it being Friday afternoon.

So I got home around 4:30 from class and BAKED for several hours. Alisa asked for a confetti cake with cream cheese icing so I made the confetti cake, to find out her mom sent here German Chocolate cake mix and some weird nutty icing...however we only have one cake pan so we made the German Chocolate mix into cupcakes (which only the guys ate). So I made the cake and homemade cream cheese icing, and may I add, it was the most heavenly thing ever besides Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! I nearly just ate the icing by itself but alas the cake was barren and needed this heavenly creation. So Keely spead it on and then took dye and wrote Happy Birthday in purple and yellow! Happy colors =] Keely tried to take the cake out before we iced it, so we could make the other one...but it didn't work and broke in half, but she flipped it back and covered it up well. Couldn't tell until we cut it, and it fell apart...yeah

So we had cake and presents and we played "Do you love your neighbor?" I was only in the center once. Then we played musical chairs on our porch/balcony due to our apartment being hot from so much baking. It was pretty awesome and we got neighbors from all around to play with us. After that we went to Cajun Bob's which is just a dance place for Mormon kids but it was kinda lame so we went to Jamba Juice and drew pictures. After that some people were tired so they went home. But the rest of us (there were 8 I think) hoped into 2 cars and drove out into the middle of nowhere and went stargazing for hours and drew with light =] It was much fun!

The End.

Yeah, I know, not my best story but hey I'm tired! In other news I took a nap today! =] First time as of yet and I loved it! I also developed some film, which was nice. And I am slowly getting to know people in all my classes. My Book of Mormon reading is going well, I am constantly learning and I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. As for my other classes, they are quite dull but I don't mind.

I think my roommates want to go have crazy adventures this weekend. I am not sure as to what we will do since one roommate is going home and 2 of our guy friends are going home as well. Leaving 5 of us and Mikey and Taylor. So we shall see.

Oh! Wednesday night we had the guys over, just playing games and chatting and it was pretty fun =]

Other than that, it has been a slow, dull week. The weather is lovely and I am hoping to get more pictures in before it gets colder.

Maybe it is time for another nap.....=] I get to sleep in tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always hungry!

New Day

So.....new day, another day of doing NOTHING!!! How exciting...Best part is, I still have an hour of class. I guess I shall talk about......WEATHER!!! Yeah so it has been ridiculously freezing these past several weeks and I am ready for spring. Bring on the sunshine, rain, and breezes please. I am completely a spring person since I have no allergies, making spring easily my favorite time of the year. The weather is gorgeous. Living in the south, I get to see every season for the unique beauty each brings.

Summer is hot, where the best adventures happen at the pool or in an ice cold movie theater, watching chick flicks, comedies, or adventure films. Either way you kind ways to beat the heat.

Fall on the other hand is an amazing sight to photograph. The mix of reds, oranges, yellows and browns with an occasional mix of green and purple bring a welcoming sight to those fortunate to live or visit here.

Winter rarely brings snow, but when the weather decides to drop a fluffy, white present, joy fills every child and even many adults. The chance to stay home, go sledding and drink tons of hot cocoa with friends and family is one people cannot pass up.

Then of course, there is my favorite, SPRING! The perfect mix of sunshine, rain, flowers, breezes and warm temperatures. Great of running, biking or any out door activities. Picnics with friends, or just laying in the grass for a Sunday naps or looking at the new flowers blooming, saying "hello world". Or for me, spring means buying new dresses and shoes along with bright colors insight at each turn.

Like today, a perfect 65 degree day, after a pleasant visit to some quite sweet people in Mt.Airy, I came home for a peaceful nap on the porch swing. Seasons are amazing whether you like the snow and cold of the hot blistering summers, you can not pass up the beauty of nature.

Take a walk,
Meg
