Year In Review of 2013 (Part 2)

Sorry it took me awhile but finally here is part 2 of our year in review.

A panoramic view of our apartment.

We found a pretty good Chinese restaurant in Rexburg to Garett's great joy!

That face kills me =]

We got snow...

I gained another niece, sweet Evelyn!

Our first Christmas tree!

Learned that I hate lighting glass.

And more snow...

Brandon Sanderson finally bought his rights back for his Alcatraz books so we snatched them up!
We now own every book he has ever published (not including the books he finished for Robert Jordan).

Got to meet him for a 2nd time!

An what would Rexburg be without MORE snow...

I found an inception chip. A chip in a chip in a chip.

We got to enjoy some Taco Bus!
Let me tell you, food cooked on an old school bus turned into a restaurant never tasted so good!
It really is heavenly! If you ever find yourself in Rexburg you MUST try it!

Sorry, I had to post this one again because it just kills me!

After Christmas some of us got together to play our new favorite board game Betrayal at the House on the Hill.

Luckily Nikolai left the board game alone MOSTLY...

Just good times with my sweet husband.

Oh and could you guess? More snow!

Found a new favorite computer game, Terraria. It's addicting needless to say.

Just guess....

=]

=] =]

Garett fell asleep holding my leg and sadly no phone, books or any other distractions were in reach so I got to sit with my leg falling asleep for almost an hour.

Just being me.

Great uncle Jack and Evelyn.

And of course....

So that was 2013, sorry it wasn't insane but it was fun and relaxing. I doubt the years ahead will ever be this calm and easy ever again.

Have a great day!

Jamba

Is what I crave at midnight, though lately I crave it more and more. Fruity goodness, if only it wasn't so pricy. But tomorrow is thirsty Thursday so that's a little deal right?

Anywho Congrats to Albert and Wendy on their engagement!!!! I am thrilled for y'all!

The sun decided to come back to Rexburg, despite missing the 3 day weekend. I am grateful.

This week has flown by to my relief.

We got off work early today! For the first time since last fall! Woohoo!!!!

Garett is getting me reading again and I love it. Isn't he such a good husband fiancee?
Because of our short work day we were able to go home and cuddle while talking about Warbreaker which I just finished today. Garett wants me to start Elantris though we have to return his mom's Nook next week. =[

I always hated Nooks and Kindles and now I am in love with them and want one! They are ridiculously handy and have an amazing battery life. =]

We get to see my family and pretty much ALL of Garett's family next weekend! I am thrilled! I think I will finally get to meet Jamie, Owen & their kids. Woohoo!

I have an awesome family and I love them.

I love chocolate milk and Mexican food

To Prove I Am Still Alive

I am blogging for the first time in 3 weeks.

Sorry for the delay. School, work, and wedding planning are drowning me. Sadly wedding planning is the only part that is pleasant.

So I guess this will be a quick little update:

  • Color Photo has unrealistic expectations that I can take pictures ANY TIME of  the day. But I can't. This makes assignments hard.
  • Printmaking is fun, and I am not the only one that stinks at it. 4/5 of my class does. Given there are only 12 of us in the class, if that.
  • If I ever remember to scan them in, I will show you my prints.
  • Graphic Design is getting easier, I am kind of bad at that too.
  • Marriage Prep is AMAZING and I actually want to keep the books from my class. Weird never thought I would say that.
  • New Testament. Awesome.
  • Work is of the devil, I think they honestly secretly hate their lives.
  • Anyone have a cure for a constant headache?
  • (sorry those all sound like whining)
  •  On the bright side, for my sanity's sake I go to the Temple twice a week with Haley! =D =D
  • 79 days until I am Megan Bonds (And I can spell it cursive quite fluently, thank you photo lectures for giving me this practice)
  • I have awesome home teachers
  • I miss FHE (weird!)
  • Rexburg is warm
  • Garett and I are eating egg salad tonight YUM!!! (I could eat it by myself...)
  • And I get to teach Relief Society for the first time ever on the 27th! (poor girls!)
That is my life. Great huh?
Also Garett and I are going home this weekend for our engagement pictures and my dress fitting. Gah I can't wait to go home! I never thought I would be so happy to see Utah in my entire life!

Now a random picture of my nephew Nikolai.
Who happens to be the cutest little boy in the entire world!

 Time for sleep.

Egg salad: how heaven tastes
Marriage: how heaven looks

Good Morning Starshine, the Earth Says "Hello!"

(In which I manage to blog about NOTHING too important. Enjoy)

So actually it is afternoon, possibly evening for some of you, but either way, that is NOT what the earth was saying to me this morning.

It was more like....."Go back to sleep. You deserve it for doing so much math last night".

You may be wondering what an art major is doing math for.....

Well it turns out I am much better and faster at math than I remembered so I helped Garett with his math homework until I was about to fall asleep.

But did I sleep?

NOPE.

Instead I did more math for fun.

Reintroducing Kenken:

I'm cool, I know.

And suddenly I am wondering why I am not a math major,
since strangely enough, I really miss it.

My morning consisted of starting and getting half of my science project done.
Part 2 will be finished after work.

My teeth look prettier, thanks Catherine,
despite this being the worst fake smile in the world.

My ring sparkles like crazy in the sunlight, but you can't tell in pictures. =[

I miss the Hunger Games.

I guess Garett will just have to introduce me to some new books.

This is for you Hannah:
 I miss you!

A picture of my wedding dress (sorta) in which you can tell NOTHING about the dress itself.
Sorry Garett. xP

I am addicted to homemade popcorn chicken.
Restaurant popcorn chicken will never compare...

Garett and I have too much fun semi freezing water into cubes
Over and over and over and over again.

I found a delicious new recipe of creamy rotini and chicken primavera.
Which my roommate spilled the leftovers on the floor, threw them away and did not tell, though I watched her do it.

Also congrats to Matt B! Who finally got his mission call!
(I won't announce where until he has given me permission)
But best of luck to you Matt! You'll be a great missionary!
Sorry you'll miss my wedding thought =[

It is a beautiful day out  and I am trying to pretend like work doesn't exist for a few more minutes.

Last day of work.
One last project.
(Aced my family foundations finals)
Now to clean and pack, which I have not started....
But instead spent much needed and missed quality time with Garett.
And he made me dinner. (It's becoming a Wednesday tradition)

California here I come!

I should stop eating in bed,
I have no Emily (my dog) to
blame for the crumbs anymore.

It's the small things that count

When was the last time you stopped to enjoy those small moments in your life?

Like enjoying some chunky peanut butter with a spoon and a blanket on the couch away from the cold.

Or the smell of lotion when you put it on.
And it reminds you of the beautiful day that awaits you.

Or the enjoyment of settling in to your new home.
Or at least getting excited about settling in soon.

The best is when you get a great deal on the best cheese.
Pepper Jack of course!

TWO pounds of pepper jack, what could be better?

(Aaron, I can just imagine you going to town on this block of cheese)

Getting some munchy food and lunch stuff (it's in the fridge, not pictured)
And getting a ride back from the store with 2 nice guys. Oh how I missed the nice people of Rexburg.

Finding a lost box is a great feeling!
Now to get pots and pans so that I can actually use this stuff is another matter..

The pretty day that awaits outside my window

Even when it turns into the largest snow flakes you have ever seen

I wish I could show you how large these snow flakes were
They were at LEAST quarter sized.

Doing laundry is rather pleasant and satisfying
Except for having to put it away...

Working out!
This is my "I'm going to feel this tomorrow" face but it's so satisfying knowing you're doing something good for your body. =D

And starting to pack up the few things you unpacked because you get to move in a few days =D
I am ready to unpack! I am ready to have a home again =D

The funniest thing by far is when my manger gives tours of the apartment or the girls (who will live here next semester) and their mothers/friends are moving their boxes in and they stop to look at this:
This is years of collecting/making earrings.

I am not a fan of subtle earrings. =D

I hope this makes you stop and appreciate the simple things in your life, whether it be the weather, a snack or two, the people you meet, a scent, finding something that was lost, future plans, clean clothes, working out or something you have created.

Crunchy
Peanut butter
is the
way to go!
Enjoy!
