Here's to the cutest 2 year old ever!

If you don't want to see a million pictures of my nephew you can skip this post. But if you love adorable two year olds then stay and bask in all the cuteness!

During the Christmas break I got the best present ever! Catherine, Jesse and Nikolai came home for Christmas all the way from Michigan.!Wasn't that so sweet of them?
Seriously though, that was THE BEST PRESENT EVER!
Thanks mom and dad for helping make it happen!

His penguin pajamas, man I wish I could be 2 and have awesome pjs like those!

Stuffin his face full of goodies. And look at those beautiful blue eyes!
Who could say no to those eyes?

Grandma and auntie with that sweet munchkin!

Okay sorry this one just kills me, this sweet little face!
My heart is melting!

Teaching him to make puffy faces as any good aunt does =]

Also to wink!

And then embarrassing him ;D

Some good ol dancing, look at those moves!

I love his blond locks that get curlier as the days go on.

Then after New Years they came over for a fun night of Nikloai showing us that he can fit in that box perfectly and playing games!

I like to think he learned this face from his awesome mommy!

Oh man I love these guys!
This picture fills me with many warm fuzzies!
Come back soon y'all!
I love and miss you TONS!

Have a smiley day full of popsicles and hopefully less snow!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday

I finally had some time to myself and decided to go on a youtube rampage and came across some music that I can only describe as: SUNSHINE music.

So here are two songs that I really love.

The first is "Brave" by Sara Bareilles.
Though to be honest I love the video just as much.
I hope you dance along with it.

The second is "Brighter Than the Sun" by Colbie Caillat.
Which really is just sunshine.

Hope you enjoyed those songs.
Happy Tuesday/Wednesday!

Delayed Adventures

So throughout the semester my mom has come to visit several times and she even brought Aaron a few times and I did document some of it. So here are a few pictures of old adventures.

I took Garett & my mom to Big Jud's one time.
I forgot to mention to them though that the only thing small about Big Jud's is the size of the building.
This was Garett's burger.

To get an idea of how big it was, it was at least the width of Garett's hand and that was about as small as they come.

There was lots of good food and good laughs to be had.

When Aaron came we went to Neilson's Frozen Custard (which despite it's name actually has a lot more food than you'd think) again lots of good food.

and then we had so Jamba.
Who doesn't love Jamba?
No one, that's who.

We took them to the drive-in theater here. It was Aaron's first time and my mom's first time since before she was married.
We loved it.

We introduced them to the Bonds way of doing tacos.

aka friend corn tortillas and the best homemade guacamole you'll ever had.
So of course they fell in love with it.

Oh and I had a birthday.

French Satin Chocolate Cake.
It was to die for.

On a random side note.
This is where I live this semester.
Oh Spori....you're so small.
I go from the basement to the third floor every other day.

and one day Garett and I had a picnic in the orchard.
He's so cute.

P.S. This is where we met the first time and later got engaged.
So basically I love this place.

So that's a little bit of life.
Hopefully soon I'll try to scan in some of my lithography projects. problem is they're too big for my scanner but we'll see.

4 weeks of classes left =D =D
So excited =D

Have a great week =D

BIZY BIZY BIZY

To be said like the magician in "Frosty the Snowman".
(The last 10 seconds)

That was my life for the last 4 months, though much more intensely these last two or so weeks. Oh the stories that Haley and I could tell you....

But I won't because most of them are grossly unpleasant dealing with slamming doors, stomping, finals crammed into 3 days, migraines and everything unhappy.

Luckily those days are over!
This last week Garett and I have been in Centerville, Utah with my parents and siblings (minus Aaron, miss you bud!).

My parents moved houses and I love this new one, it is beautiful. =]
I have gotten to play with my dear nephew who can now sit up on his own and I have enjoyed the little and bigger things of life with those that truly matter in my life.
(Side note, got to meet Wendy's mom, yay short people! Can't wait to for her to join our family in December!)
This evening we are finally relaxing and ready to head down to California tomorrow morning. It will be a long drive but luckily I have some pretty awesome people to share the ride with.

All in all I am ready to fast forward 7 1/2 days (I wonder why.....) but I guess I can wait until then.

Until then I have asked of Garett for him to call me: my wife, Megan Bonds, Mrs. Bonds or Sister Bonds. All are acceptable in reference to me. Mostly I just like hearing them said and I giggle like a five year old littler girl. I imagine the sight is rather amusing.

Anyway I guess that is an update on life, and about as vague as one can get without saying "I was some place, now I am somewhere, going somewhere else tomorrow and changing my world next week".

Regardless California is calling my name, and then Georgia beaches shortly to follow.
I have been waiting for next Friday for a long time, basically since I met Garett's family last year, fell in love with them and decided to steal his grandparents. (They're pretty darn amazing!)

In summary I am ready to be a BONDS! =D =D =D =D =D After all I was swooped up by that Bonds charm (as grandpa Bonds would say) ;D

I am not sure when I'll get to blog again. Maybe the night before my wedding because I will not be sleeping a wink, being all nervous, giddy and excited. Same thing goes for Christmas and any other vital holidays or events. I digress, if I don't get to blog before my wedding, then SO LONG SEBRIGHT NAME, SINGLE LIFE AND THE AWFUL AWFUL DATING GAME! Sorry but you will NOT be missed.

Mrs. Megan Bonds here I come!!!!!

To Prove I Am Still Alive

I am blogging for the first time in 3 weeks.

Sorry for the delay. School, work, and wedding planning are drowning me. Sadly wedding planning is the only part that is pleasant.

So I guess this will be a quick little update:

  • Color Photo has unrealistic expectations that I can take pictures ANY TIME of  the day. But I can't. This makes assignments hard.
  • Printmaking is fun, and I am not the only one that stinks at it. 4/5 of my class does. Given there are only 12 of us in the class, if that.
  • If I ever remember to scan them in, I will show you my prints.
  • Graphic Design is getting easier, I am kind of bad at that too.
  • Marriage Prep is AMAZING and I actually want to keep the books from my class. Weird never thought I would say that.
  • New Testament. Awesome.
  • Work is of the devil, I think they honestly secretly hate their lives.
  • Anyone have a cure for a constant headache?
  • (sorry those all sound like whining)
  •  On the bright side, for my sanity's sake I go to the Temple twice a week with Haley! =D =D
  • 79 days until I am Megan Bonds (And I can spell it cursive quite fluently, thank you photo lectures for giving me this practice)
  • I have awesome home teachers
  • I miss FHE (weird!)
  • Rexburg is warm
  • Garett and I are eating egg salad tonight YUM!!! (I could eat it by myself...)
  • And I get to teach Relief Society for the first time ever on the 27th! (poor girls!)
That is my life. Great huh?
Also Garett and I are going home this weekend for our engagement pictures and my dress fitting. Gah I can't wait to go home! I never thought I would be so happy to see Utah in my entire life!

Now a random picture of my nephew Nikolai.
Who happens to be the cutest little boy in the entire world!

 Time for sleep.

Egg salad: how heaven tastes
Marriage: how heaven looks

My Name is Megan and I....

have an addiction.....

To spices.
Can you tell? (not pictured: ground ginger)

But in my defense, anything good worth cooking requires them.

I have a list of spices I want to collect.

I am slowly completing my collection.

I want to have one as large as my mom's one day,
maybe even bigger! (If that is possible)

Oh spices, how wonderful you are,
how delicious you make food
and how good you smell!

Time for chicken enchiladas tonight
and meal salsa tomorrow night!
YUM! =D

Thoughts of a Megan 2

After reading my siblings blogs here and here, I felt inspired I guess you could say to share some thoughts that have been on my mind recently. Lately I have been struggling without actually having any struggles, outside of feeling like I have no time. My classes are nice, work is....work, I love my roommates and I am home among the people of Rexburg. Not to mention meeting lots of cute guys lately....but I digress.

Lately I have been thinking about what makes me happy. When I say happy, I don't mean buying something cute or wearing an awesome outfit. I mean what makes me GENUINELY happy. The first thing I thought of was making dinner. As most would know I am not a cook, I don't do anything fancy. Tonight however, I was able to make dinner for my roommates as well as 2 of our guy friends that "just happened" to show up as we were sitting down to eat. And something about having everyone sitting down to share a meal and making everyone else happy and satisfied brought me joy. Out here it seems hard to find ways to serve, but my little attribute to feeding my friends gave me a good feeling.

Another thing is making new friends. I feel this past week we have met TONS of guys, by tons I mean 10 or so. We even played phone charades with some of them last night, and then those guys plus some came over tonight for game night. But I digress, it has been fun to meet new people that we may never would have met if we didn't go to the concert last night or if my roommate hadn't drawn on the guys hand sitting in front of us at church today. There is something about building friendships with people who live all over the country. Everyone comes from a different background with different experiences and that learning process is fun.

And finally just enjoying the friends you do have. I got the chance to talk to a friend tonight for two hours. I have NO clue what we talked about, I only remember laughing most of the time. But it was fun, it gave me joy to continue to build that friendship and to build the friendships I have here. I am surrounded by some amazing people, whether they live in my apartment, a block over or several blocks over, some even several states away. But we all come together and bond no matter how different we are, we get to enjoy the company of people we may have never met if it weren't for this school.

So think about it. What makes you TRULY happy? Do you enjoy laughing over silly stories, meeting new people, cooking, learning, trusting? I hope you enjoy the small things, a funny story or joke, whatever it may be. Because without those small things in our lives, we could be pretty unhappy. We're all blessed in our own ways.

But to see the blessings, sometimes we have to face challenges first. I know I have had some lately that have really tested my strength. I have had to face fears that I didn't want to deal with but I did, and I know I am stronger for it. My teacher once said we are the sculptor and the sculpture. We have to hammer away at our imperfections to become better. Is it going to hurt? Heck yeah it will hurt! But in the end we will be perfecting and creating something worthwhile.

So hammer away, but know you'll be better for it in the end. Along the way look for happy moments that make it all worthwhile. Joy is not the absence of pain, but the presence of God.

Chin up and hold strong
because you are worth it.

Sunshine makes everything better

I have to say, today was one of the best days ever at work. =] Let me explain, normally work is long and I get super tired very quickly. Something about work just brings out the yawns in me. Plus the cold tends to bring out the grumpy side of people because they're focused on running to their cars (to avoid the cold) with their children, but they are mad because children need constant feeding and they have short legs and can't get to the car as quickly as their parents would like. Therefore I get lots of grumpy customers which makes me grumpy.

But today, something changed! Maybe it was this perfectly gorgeous weather or that the week is half over. Or that I have been scrunching my hair more lately which makes me happy. I am not sure, but everyone seemed so happy. =] All the cute guys that came to the counter tipped more (which always makes me happier to serve people) and even the other employees had a bounce in their step. Seriously!!! Even the grumpy woman at the front desk was happy! (I swear angels were singing when I saw her smile for the first time ever today). Maybe it helped that Sarah (on of the swim teachers) came over and we chatted away until she had her next class or that Matt Brown came and kept me company until I had to close up. (Normally the last hour or so of work is SUPER dull and quiet). Either way, today was wonderful and everyone was happy and I was happy (despite being out and about for 11 hours today).

HAPPY WEDNESDAY Y'ALL!
