Summer Time Adventures

I know, I know. I haven't blogged in almost 2 months but I'm here to make it up to you.
Forgive me?
To be fair we have had tons going on. Funny how life gets quiet and then picks up suddenly for awhile.
I would say things are quiet now but they're still busy, just in different ways.

Without further ado I will catch you up on life.
I'll keep dialogue to a minimum until then end of the post, sound fair enough?

To start I found Cheerwine in Rexburg at this cute vintage candy store!
For those that don't know it is a North Carolina original soda.
I believe it is a cherry, almond flavored cola. (No alcohol I promise)

Garett graduated with his Bachelors in Microbiology!
I'm so proud of him, if y'all only knew how hard he worked!
(P.S. Yes in case you missed it I am pregnant with our first baby which is due in January, gender VERY SOON to come)

After the semester ended we headed down to Utah to spend time with my family, some old friends, see Grandma and Grandpa Bonds and attend my dear friend Haley's wedding.

I also satisfied my deepest pregnancy craving with doughnuts!

Munchkin is growing big and is constantly kicking and wiggling.
It makes me so very happy.
(Baby can't reach my ribs yet)
This was me at about 17 weeks.

My dear friend Haley and her very lucky man.
What a beautiful bride! So glad I got to be there!

My very handsome little brother
(Sorry Aaron, I know you don't like this picture but you look good anyway)

After that we headed down to the fabulous Southern California.
Not before we saw rain in Las Vegas though.....weird...

Once we got down there we went camping at the beach.
Falling asleep to the sound of actual waves at night is probably on my list of all time favorite things now.
Plus no bugs!

Me, before I took a nap in the sun and burned my left shoulder pretty badly.

It was worth it though because I got to see Garett surf for the first time since he has been home from his mission (roughly 5 years).

He's mine! Isn't that wonderful?

I finally had California Pizza Kitchen!
My cup left a Red John smiley face though. O.o
(Google The Mentalist for more info)

Of course I got my Panera Bread!
(I have a deep love of food, don't judge me.)

Tay's cat, Buddy loves me.
He thinks my lap is a great napping place.

After almost 2 weeks away from home we are back in Rexburg.
We loved getting to see so many people that we love dearly and it was by far one of the best trips we've ever had. We feel blessed to be able to be close enough (relatively) to see so much of our family all in one trip.
Now we're home and working on packing up and moving to a new apartment to make room for our sweet little munchkin. I start my last semester of school in a little under a month which I am excited for but in no rush to start. It'll be fun, exciting and a little sad to be done with BYU-I. I've had a wonderful 4 years here and I have fallen in love with this little town.

As I said before we are very close to finding out the gender of our munchkin so make your bets now.
So far it's pretty much split down the middle.

We've been enjoying quite a bit of rain this last week which I love not only because I love rain but because we live on the 3rd floor which gets  hot in the summer.

Things are great and busy as we are starting to prepare little by little for baby to come.
We now have some of the basic things like crib, changing table, etc and it's exciting to start preparing for munchkin.

More than anything I'm falling in love with my baby every day. Baby is very vivacious and wiggly and it fills me with joy to know my baby is working hard on building those strong muscles. I'm looking forward to meeting baby in roughly 20ish weeks and being a mom.
Don't get me wrong I'm certain it's probably going to be the hardest thing I've ever done, but also the most wonderful. We couldn't be happier to be on our way to becoming parents.
It's a crazy but exciting time in our lives. We're grateful to all the support we've had thus far and thank you for all the well wishes and positive energy.

I hope all is well with y'all.
I'm hoping my next post will be for the gender of our baby so stay tuned!

Nothing Comes From Nothing

Nothing ever could,
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good.
(Love that song & movie. It was my favorite growing up, can anyone name it? I know my mom can!)

Anyway for the last several weeks I have felt like I have been in limbo, homeless with no foreseeable ending to our travels. Trust me, living out of one suitcase for 8 weeks is NOT fun. Also just not being able to do anything gets tedious.

But I am happy to say we have things worked out now and we will be returning to the GLORIOUS California next week. Not that I don't adore my family here, I do I really do, but I am ready to be settled in for a bit and to see my in-laws. Trust me, if you had in-laws as awesome as mine you would want to hang out with them too.

In other news Garett grew out his beard for 2 1/2 weeks.
It was fun. Both him and my brother-in-law Jessie had beards together, it was pretty cool.

I have also gotten to play with my ADORABLE nephew Nikolai.

I think he is starting to get used to me. =]

Too bad he won't remember me when I come back in January.
But all the same, he's been a blast.
Watching him teethe , stand up and walk along the edge of the couch before falling over has been fun (well not so much the tooth thing).

And of course the great faces he makes and his ability to entertain himself with Garett's watch for ALL of church. Seriously $10 watch for a quiet baby for 3 hours? That's a fair trade!

All in all my visit with my family has been a blast. I love being with them and all the silly happenings that go on here. I have enjoyed being here and I can't wait to go to California and be able to start getting things done for my little family of two.

I have such a great man. Everyone tells me so, so it must be true right?
I have learned life is unpredictable and obnoxious but you have to go with the flow and enjoy it. There will be plenty of moments in life where we have no time to rest, sleep or get the things done that we need. So this has been a nice quiet start to our marriage, and it will be a fun crazy ride. =]

In and Out burgers are actually
the same size as on the picture!
Yes this is a new and thrilling
finding of mine.
Don't judge my East Coast-ness =]

Better Late Than Never

Here are some pictures from California

Our hike.
Our goofiness.
Houses that I don't want to know the price of.
My super handsome fiancee (101 days till he is HUSBAND) =D

The pier.

We were lucky. This place is normally PACKED.

Dolphins!

I didn't realize there were SO many types of palm trees.

I touched the Pacific Ocean!

I strangely love this picture of Garett.

I look pretty silly in these pictures.
But Garett just looks SOOO good!

Look how long and leggy he looks.
Maybe I am biased.

You caught me.
This post is really to brag about how handsome my fiancee is.

So many palm trees!

Narrow houses.
It reminded me of Full House.
But better because this is Southern California.

Confession: This post has been sitting as a draft for a week or so.
I've been busy.

Printmaking is as awesome as I originally thought it was going to be!!!!
So is marriage prep and Color Photo.
And New Testament (part 2) is a given AWESOME.
Intro to Graphic Design however MIGHT be the death of me.
So 4 out of 5 are awesome.
Those are good odds right?

Off to class.
Summer has come early with the 80's.
I will miss it this weekend. =[
Have a lovely day!!!

I am getting married!
It is starting to feel more real now!
Eeeeek!!

Few Pictures, Lots of Smiles

 California (LA/Glendora area) is beautiful!!!!!!
I haven't really taken pictures though.
Mostly because I didn't feel like digging for my camera in the bottom of my backpack.

I had THAT stranger fiancee moment in that ward that everyone knows everyone and knows who you are before you meet them because word gets around fast.
I wandered around and met a million people who told me how LUCKY I am to have Garett (as if I didn't know that already ;D)

Isn't he so handsome?

I met Erikka, Will, Jessika and Nik. (my soon-to-be-sibling-in-laws)
They're pretty great.
I adore his family, but go figure.

I enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and dinner,
Movies nights, the jacuzzi and VERY briefly the freezing-ish pool,
Hong Kong Express,
Marie Calendar's Chocolate Satin Pie,
A double date with Erikka & Will,
A hike and picnic in the mountains,
Hanging with Steven,
A beautiful drive up the mountain,
and learning to drive stick shift briefly.

 And acting like adults.
=]
Feeling so grown up
and like my family just tripled in size.
California is gorgeous.
They have really cool houses here.
Aaron architecturally here I think you would love it.

I may post more pictures later.
But now the jacuzzi is calling mine, Garett's, Tay's and possibly Matthew's names.

Still have a cookout and two more double dates to enjoy and another hike.
The beach was canceled due to insufficient means to transport surf boards.

Enjoy your weather,
I met mine is better than yours!
HA HA!

Good Morning Starshine, the Earth Says "Hello!"

(In which I manage to blog about NOTHING too important. Enjoy)

So actually it is afternoon, possibly evening for some of you, but either way, that is NOT what the earth was saying to me this morning.

It was more like....."Go back to sleep. You deserve it for doing so much math last night".

You may be wondering what an art major is doing math for.....

Well it turns out I am much better and faster at math than I remembered so I helped Garett with his math homework until I was about to fall asleep.

But did I sleep?

NOPE.

Instead I did more math for fun.

Reintroducing Kenken:

I'm cool, I know.

And suddenly I am wondering why I am not a math major,
since strangely enough, I really miss it.

My morning consisted of starting and getting half of my science project done.
Part 2 will be finished after work.

My teeth look prettier, thanks Catherine,
despite this being the worst fake smile in the world.

My ring sparkles like crazy in the sunlight, but you can't tell in pictures. =[

I miss the Hunger Games.

I guess Garett will just have to introduce me to some new books.

This is for you Hannah:
 I miss you!

A picture of my wedding dress (sorta) in which you can tell NOTHING about the dress itself.
Sorry Garett. xP

I am addicted to homemade popcorn chicken.
Restaurant popcorn chicken will never compare...

Garett and I have too much fun semi freezing water into cubes
Over and over and over and over again.

I found a delicious new recipe of creamy rotini and chicken primavera.
Which my roommate spilled the leftovers on the floor, threw them away and did not tell, though I watched her do it.

Also congrats to Matt B! Who finally got his mission call!
(I won't announce where until he has given me permission)
But best of luck to you Matt! You'll be a great missionary!
Sorry you'll miss my wedding thought =[

It is a beautiful day out  and I am trying to pretend like work doesn't exist for a few more minutes.

Last day of work.
One last project.
(Aced my family foundations finals)
Now to clean and pack, which I have not started....
But instead spent much needed and missed quality time with Garett.
And he made me dinner. (It's becoming a Wednesday tradition)

California here I come!

I should stop eating in bed,
I have no Emily (my dog) to
blame for the crumbs anymore.
