Blessed

The Lord truly has been looking out for me this last week, even these last few months.

• I met my best friend and boyfriend Garett Bonds
• I have been doing pretty well in my classes
• I have become a better cook
• I have been able to keep a job and stay here at home in Rexburg
• The snow has managed to hold off pretty well this winter season (until recently)
• My family is now conveniently located only a few hours away =]
• I met most of Garett's family over Thanksgiving break (they're pretty wonderful)
• He met my family, and if I am not mistaken, they really like him. =]
• I enjoyed going to the temple with my temple buddy Haley every Friday last semester
• My sister just had the cutest baby boy I ever did see (his face screams "Sebright", I think he looks like Aaron as a baby *insert pic of Aaron as baby*)
• Plus I am an AUNT!!! It probably won't hit me until I see the little munchkin though
•  The idea of marriage is really starting to hit me lately, and sometimes I get really excited and spaz a little bit, which is followed by Garett hugging me and telling me how cute I am
• I was able to hear Elder L. Tom Perry speak at devotional today.....AMAZING man!
• I am surviving my surprisingly hard and time consuming classes this semester
• I have kept my new years goal of working out every day pretty well
• I am getting to go to California with Garett for the first time ever in April (EXCITED! Getting to meet the rest of Garett's family too....eeek!)
• I somehow have tons of friends in relationships this semester that Garett and I go on double dates with (convenient eh?)
• And did I mention I met the most wonderful man in the entire world named Garett Bonds???

All in all these last few months have been awesome, and though sometimes challenging have always turned out to be blessings in disguise.

Now I am counting down the days until I get to meet baby Nikolai and enjoy the company of the rest of my family. Oh how the Lord has been so good to me these last few months. I would be a fool not to be grateful.

In the Midst of It All

Not going to lie to you, I have no idea what I am about to write so I guess we shall see where this takes us.

I have had a great deal on my mind lately. 2012 is going to be a year of lots of changes.

Any day my baby nephew is going to arrive. I am getting anxious to meet him!

Somehow even though I am only a part time student and working part time I manage to keep busy.

I am still holding onto my New Years resolution to work out everyday (or at least Monday-Friday).

I have been thinking about the future a great deal. I even planned out all the classes I want to take over the next 5-6 semesters. I am excited though slightly nervous for the classes I am going to take. I hope they challenge me as a photographer and an artist.

There are many things I desire above all else and I am learning where my priorities lie. I have a desire to try out new recipes and be able to cook more than 10 meals. I always want to be with Garett, building our relationship, but I also want his happiness whether that be finishing his homework or taking a nap after a long day. I am learning that I have more patience than I realize and though I am still somewhat selfish in nature, Garett's needs come before what I want.

I am always reminded how life is from a quote from "What A Girl Wants". As Daphne heads out on her own she tells her mom that up until that point, her mom had been writing her story for her and now she was going to take things into her own hands and start writing her own story.

We start out and life is written out for us: preschool, elementary, middle and high school. As you go on you get a little more freedom. Once you hit college or whatever path you choose you start writing your own story. If you choose college then you have a few more years of at least a little structure and then after that you are free flying headed wherever you choose. I know I am not too close to that yet, but the idea of already being half way through college is strange. Realizing I have been in Rexburg for quite a long time and I am no longer new in any such manner. It is strange yet satisfying....I apologize, I am yammering on.

I guess what I am trying to get at is life should never be boring or monotonous, if it is then we are not learning like we should. Being in college I take things by semester and try to figure out what I am supposed to be learning. I cannot lie to you, it is not always easy, it is only fun about half the time, but it is ALWAYS worth it. I hope you can figure out what you are supposed to be learning. I recommend praying with a sincere heart. No matter what time of day, if you have a few minutes to spare go and pray. It will make a world of difference. And then listen with a strong desire to know the truth and sacrificing the natural man in you to let go if what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear.

Lessons Learned

#1 There is a such thing as TOO much pulp.

See the thing is I like pulp in my OJ, otherwise I feel like my juice is all fake. But they didn't have "medium pulp", only high or none. And now there is too much pulp.

#2 If you have a sore throat, don't let people drink after you. (Sorry Victor! It just slipped my mind of WHY I was drinking my OJ....)

#3 You CAN you too many condiments. (See below)

I wish that was all, but look at the rest of the fridge:

#4 When the kitchen is clean, I am happy!

#5 Lots of movies makes Rexburg easier to deal with.
And you can never have too many movies. =]

#6 When I can see my floor, I am EXTREMELY happy! (Thank you Nikki for doing your laundry, even if I think it smells funky, but can you blame me?)

#7 Roommates do NOT share everything, especially sour cream and cheddar Ruffles. I'm sorry y'all, it's a big NO NO. So I can completely respect this sign.

Even though I had no intention of eating them. Unlike some, I don't get Tom to tackle my friends just so I can try and steal their chips. Love you Nikki!


#8 Don't kiss boys in your sleep, or you'll wake up with a sore throat.

I'm pretty sure I

Findings:

I've been in college for around a month and a bit now and I would like to share some lessons I have learned in college.

1) Set at least 3 alarms every morning due to being deft. And even though your alarm may be blaring and wake up everyone else within a 50 foot perimeter, you may still never hear it. Also, it is good to have a roommate that sleeps even harder than you, therefore she does not get mad at you for waking up at 7/8am every single day.

2) When you are literally down to your last pair pants, just wear them all again. (As long as you don't go roll in the dirt or there are no visible stains, they are still good)

3) You know you have enough clothes when you DO have to do laundry, that your basket is as TALL and as heavy as you are.

4) Having roommates is about give and take. (I am not a great cook, so I leave it up to mainly Cacia and Alisa. In turn, I do the dishes about 95% of the time.)

5) I actually like doing dishes and they make for a great stress relief. =]

6) You can never have enough curling irons, straighteners and blow driers. (Between the 6 of us, we have about 20 of all of those....no seriously...)

7) Flats are your friend when church is up the ONE hill in Idaho. Then you can change into your cute heels once you GET to church.

8) Wind is evil.

9) When you are bored enough, you will be amazed how EXTREMELY creative you can get (hence whipped cream, giant cookies, cereal, barrel rolls, and the "haha" game)

10) You can take naps regardless of where/when or for how long, as long as you wake up and do something productive afterward.

11) Music makes walking more enjoyable.

12) Calling people is a great way to catch up with people.

13) Spiritual growth is just as important as social and mental growth.

14) Pray sincerely ALWAYS, even for meals, it makes a world of difference.

15) Learn to talk in person, communication is VITAL in all things.

16) Don't be scared to try new things, you might actually have fun.

17) It is never too late to work out, shower, or sing songs as long as you are not disrupting people or have class early the next day.

Well I think that is MOST of what I have learned...there's probably tons more but I can't think of them. But these are the most important ones. =] I hope you enjoyed these. Test them out, you might learn something too.
