Being A Kid For A Day

So today I went to go hang out with the Snow boys for the afternoon before I leave on Friday.

Bennett wanted to ride bikes =D ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!!

The only thing he could yell was "Faster! Faster!"

This 3 year old doesn't do anything slowly.

Plus he's adorable.

He had me help him get down the driveway.
But apparently I wasn't fast enough between holding him, the camera and another bike.

He likes to be the chaser.
But not getting chased.

And Grant was speedy on his scooter!
ZOOOMM!!!!!

But Bennett decided to take a break from all that biking.
Chillin on the bike.

Grant decide to rest too.
He was excited to show me that the bike would not roll backwards if you decided to rest.

By the way, this is the COOLEST bike ever!

The back wheels spin openly so the front wheel serves as the pivot.

It's like that swirl-a-whirl at the fair, but on a BIKE!

It is awesome!!!

I am totally going to buy one of these now. They should make them for adults.

After all that exercise we went inside to play some "old fashioned" video games.
(That's what the boys call N64....)
But to them, it is still new and exciting. =]

Good to share old school with the young ones. =]

Like Poke'mon Stadium.

They were addicted.

Bennett was amazed how "big" the games were.

Oh how easily amused the minds of 3 year olds are.

Told you he was cute!

Nate and Grant battling like all siblings do. (Or at least mine).

And Bennett continues his amusement with the games in his own way.

Of course after all this, Bennett got glue-like hair gel ALL in his hair and had a lovely time trying to get it out considering NO ONE was allowed to help him except his mother but Grant ended up bribing him with pennies.

Yup, gotta love 3 year olds. =]

Before I left I got a hug from Bennett, Nate even let me hug him and Grant gave me TWO hugs!
(Grant gives the best hugs!)

I'm going to miss these boys, having spent the past 4 or so years babysitting them.

I'm amazed at how much they have grown but wouldn't trade my experiences and adventures with them for anything in the world.

These boys truly are amazing.

Go ride your bike in a circle
Do something silly
Fuss over nothing
Get excited over the small things
Laugh always
And say cheeeeeeeesssse
as wide as you can

Some Pictures That Are Worth Thousands of Words

Or maybe just a few words. Like how this computer mouse is spazzing and annoying. =/

ANYWHO...

This is what my computer has looked like for the past 2 weeks...
Can you say Lie To Me? =D

And this is what Saturday nights are for:
Playin it old school!

But back to the day time:
I have 3 words for you:

LIE TO ME!!!!!

(I'm not addicted or anything...)

Then there are those moments when I think to myself

......

(Not a wonderful world you goof!) Only in North Carolina...
do we have geese crossing, deer crossing, squirrel crossing, opossum crossing, etc....

Is anyone else starting to think this is feeling more and more like a princess movie?

I'm just waiting for the birds, bunnies and chipmunks to burst into song ANY MINUTE NOW.

Speaking of Disney, remember The Sword and The Stone?
Bennett doesn't. But he does like to point his sword in the air. And leave the toilet seat up, like any other 3 year old.

Dude, tonight, I almost got beat by him at Mario Kart Wii.

He's 3.

I'll go to my little corner and sulk now....

On to some sweets that will PROBABLY make your mouth water...

Except the onion. That would make your eyes water....if it wasn't actually CAKE! =D

Man that cheese looks so good!

Anyone up for a Burger King run? RIGHT NOW! I'm driving!

Or we could have a jam session...
Anyone play the guitar? How about the ukulele?

Anyone? Anyone?

This last one, I just wanna package it up and take it home.
Too bad it looks TOO sweet to eat.

(Sorry about all these bad puns....I'm tired, can you tell?)

Finally some hats for the runway:
This is jenny featuring the Alaskan pilot hat.

That is secretly too small for her head or MY head.

Next we have
Some best friends that are bored at Target on a Saturday night =D

But for all those foreigners
The prim and proper English ladies hat, for those moments when you want to sip tea in the garden and eat bread and butter, for cake is rarely seen in the best houses nowadays.

Finally for those days where you don't want a tan but still want to be outside
The unbrella hat, keeping you pasty in the great outdoors, or while laying out by a pool.

Now for the giant sunglasses...JK

Now being so pasty, you're probably hungry and what should one eat while rocking video games and pastiness at 3 in the morning?
Cookies, cheese & crackers, and chocolate milk.

The perfect night time snack.

Thank you and goodnight.

A Mix of Old News and New Humility

In old news, here is a lovely picture I drew. I know, I am quite the artist:

Basically I draw the same as I did when I was 7.

Grant is ADORABLE!!!!
Can I just package him up and keep him???
He also happens to be THE perfect child!
If you ever wanted to know what one looked like, here he is.

Bennett is the most stubborn, persistent 3 year old I have EVER met.
More often than not, it makes me laugh, mostly because he is just so darn cute.

Klaus's family collects singing hamsters from his grandparents. I always wanted one of these. I used to go to the store and squeeze all their little hands so they all started singing and then I would run away. This was like......2 years ago.....yeah....

I have to announce to people whenever I win Mindsweeper because avoiding 90 bombs takes skills! Kidding. But seriously.

I love crazy earrings, I am addicted to them and I always want more. I can match them to anything and everything I own. I feel naked without earrings.
Yes I realize I can't wear these when I have kids. But I have a few years =D

A Winter puzzle for all y'all Westerners.

This one was intense with the WEIRDEST shaped pieces I have EVER seen! Plus the gaps and swirls. I did 95% of this puzzle by myself.

In new news, I got totally crushed at Mario Kart by a 7 year old tonight. I also failed at Wipeout (like the show) video game.

Bennett didn't want to sleep in his bed tonight so he ran into the older boys room, under Grant's bed and held on to the underside for dear life.

I was trying so hard not to laugh, it was just so cute!

And now I am going to bed at a decent hour. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

GOODNIGHT!

I love going to Bed, Bath & Beyond
And smelling
EVERY SINGLE SCENT
And then getting free samples
of their new scent,
enough to cover my hands,
arms and then some.

More moments like this

make me love my life. =]

So this evening I have been just chillin at the apartment with my roommate Rachel when my phone starts spazzing because I have a call. Who from? My dear little brother.

Aaron was quite upset and I could hear a noisy little munchkin in the background. Aaron sounding quite frantic explained that Bennett would not go to sleep though he had tried everything.

Rule #1) Don't freak out, children can smell fear!

I went through the routine list of offering him a bottle, little snack (as a last resort, kids do NOT need sugar), little show, more stories, etc.

But Bennett kept yelling "NO!"

Finally I had Aaron put me on speaker phone to talk to Bennett. Eventually I convinced him to watch a little show with Aaron and then go to bed.

This made my night. I am not sure why. Maybe it's because Aaron called ME on how to handle children, or that Bennett actually listened to me even though I was over the phone, or that I knew exactly what to do even though I haven't talked to any little kids in months.

Either way, this made my night. =] I wouldn't trade the knowledge and skills that I learned from those 3 little boys, for anything in the world. =]

Also it was weird to talk baby talk for the first time in months. I am quite sure I sounded ridiculous, now I know how mothers must feel. But yeah, I am happy now.

I can't wait to see those little boys when I come home. Oh I hope they don't forget me, not yet anyway.

I want a cheese burger
