Late Night Meanderings

Gosh where to even begin....

I've been watching meaningful movies lately and it's caused me to reflect on my life a great deal.
Most recently I watched Interstellar and made me think of what I would tell my past self. What would I change and what would I have worked harder to keep. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't change a thing, but I cannot live in the past, I can only change the future. Along with that movie, someone posted a link to a letter called "dear ex-best friend". It was beautiful and sweet. It made me think of all the people that have come and gone in my life. Believe it or not, if we were friends once, I have probably thought and wondered about you, maybe even Facebook stalked you. I hope you're doing well, that you're living out your dream or at the very least working toward your dream. I find in my 23 years of life there is no one for which I ever wish ill. I find myself rooting for people I haven't spoken to in ages. We may no longer be best friends, but because of the impact so many wonderful people have played in my life, I cheer for them. I've come to learn friendships are never mere coincidence or happenstance. Every person I've ever known played a roll in my life, to help me in some way and I hope I helped them too.

Every year I find myself wondering about someone, debating on whether I should message them and see how they're doing. Alas I almost never do for fear of it seeming weird.

I think I'm going to stop ignoring those feelings. Maybe it'll help me grow some. You never know, right?

The other movie I watched recently was The Imitation Game. It made me wildly sentimental. My little brother can testify, I was quite emotional after that movie. Oddly enough I came away from that movie wanting to deeply hug my little brother. You may be wondering why if you haven't seen the end of that movie, but if you have and you know my little brother, then you'll  know. I'm glad he lives in a day and age where he can live happily with a family that loves him deeply no matter what. Sorry I am getting emotional.....my family is very dear to me.

It is odd to see how my siblings and I have all grown and changed. I think out of us 4, I feel I could only have predicted my own life. Strange how even with living with your siblings for so long that they can still surprise you. But I am happy for them and proud of them. They each face battles I could not dream of facing and a strength I admire most dear. I feel like my life has been so much easier in comparison but maybe it is easy for us to forget what we have gone through. I like to think that my life has turned out so well though because of them and their examples to me.

My sister is so tough, yet I don't think I truly appreciated her soft side until recent years. She is incredibly strong and beautiful. She has a strength that I don't  think even she can see. She works hard for her family and her love is deeper than people can see. She is crafty and makes good food and is always finding cool activities for her kids. She loves her family more than anything. She truly is superwoman. She even helped me when I was dating Garett because she was so loving and protective that if he wasn't good she would have told me. Instead she gave me her glowing reviews and I knew he was good and that my sister loved me fiercely. She is protective which in our younger years came off a bit rough, but it is only because she wants the best for everyone. She puts everyone before herself and is such an example to me. If my life is great it is only because I have tried to model it after my sister.

My older brother is not so loud and bold as my sister, but like her, he may not know his own strength. He was always my example growing up. I always wanted to be like him. Something I don't know if I ever told him, but I should have, is he is the reason I wanted a son 1st. For as long as I can remember I have wanted a boy as my 1st child. I wanted to have a son because I wanted him to be like my big brother. I want Joshua to be an example to my other children. I want him to be like my protective, loving older brother. I want him to protect his younger siblings and to love them like I was. I have always loved having a big brother and because of him, I wanted that for future daughters too. My brother may not be the biggest, toughest guy physically, but he has a spiritual strength that runs deep and long. He has been faithful in his scripture study and prayer as long as I can remember and I have always admired him of that. He is a great man, that may not be loud, but his voice is still powerful. I hope he has not forgotten that.

And then there is my little brother. We joke he has all the brains and charisma that the rest of us lack. He's not the most humble, but he is loving and sweet. It is his quiet side that I think people don't see. He works hard like my dad and he isn't good at sitting still, but he loves purely. How do I explain his quiet side? It isn't necessarily tangible. It is in the many late nights we stayed up talking on the couch, the silly snapchats, emojis and the way he looks when he sees my parents kiss. I guess it's his romantic side. He's a young man with an old soul. Like the rest of us, he's never wanted a temporal relationship and he is definitely not a fling person. Even in his young age, he looks for love long-term. He's a romantic which I am not sure comes off when people first meet him. He has carried a lot of emotional weight with him over the years and it makes me so glad he was born into our family. I love that we received his wild romantic ball of energy into our family because though being the youngest, he has taught us so much. He taught me to love in a new way, that family is so much more than blood and dna. Family is a pure, perfect love no matter what.

To wrap up I want to talk about my little family, Garett and Joshua. There are no earthly words to describe my love for them. I wish I was more eloquent to be able to fully explain my feelings. So many people fight being labeled and defined as wife or mother of "so and so". But I find myself loving those labels. Without them I am not complete. The world tells you that you don't need man or woman to be happy, and that is sort of true. But I would be lying to say I would be happy without them. My level of joy far exceeds whatever it could be if I was alone. It is like eating the richest chocolate in the world and then going back to some cheap brand. Why would you go back when you can have so much better? I need Joshua and Garett because I am no longer just me. Garett and Joshua are a part of me. When I go to the store without Joshua I feel like I'm missing a leg. When Garett is gone at work, I feel incomplete. I still function and have differences from them, but together we are so much stronger than we would be separately. I love being able to call myself a wife and mother and I don't want to ever take that for granted. I know too many people that long for those labels. To have a spouse that loves them beyond words or to hold their newborn child in their arms. Because of them I am reminded how fragile those labels are, how easily they can be taken. And right now I don't need other labels or distractions, right now I am enjoying my family as we are.

Happy New Year!

A week late!

I'll keep this quick.
Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately.
Life has been crazy/lazy these last 4 months.
Now Garett and I are settled into our new apartment, with only a few minor things to put away..........somewhere.......
Pictures will be up soon.
Now that we have out own apartment, I just want to invite EVERYONE over.
Not sure why, but it is a craving I have so we have already invited several people over in the 3 days we have been here.

Basically I LOVE being married.
Growing up is scary and fun though.
I can't remember anything before August except freaking out a lot because I didn't have time to breathe.
I HATE unpacking 23,094,283,747 boxes!
But love seeing the results.
I am nervous/excited for our new ward.
I feel like there is singles land and married land and they are SO far apart.
I'm in love with our egg chair (pictures soon).
What to do you when you wake up at 9 and church is at 1:30?
Blog.

Anyway I will update more when I have fun pictures to go along with them.
Congrats to Albert and Wendy and best of luck to you!
Have fun unpacking....xP

And everyone come stay with Garett and I please???
P.S. Lizzy, you got me the best wedding/Christmas present ever!
I am going to bake cookies ALLLLL the time now!

N64 with Garett
is my favorite <3 p="p">

In Which I Conquer the World

With nothing to show for it.

Well that is how I feel anyhow.

This semester I have managed to be a full time student, work part time, plan a wedding and still manage to see Garett most everyday.

Even if when I see him, it is at 10 o'clock at night and he's stressed and tired. So all I do is hug him for 10 minutes straight and scratch his back until he nearly falls asleep.
Then I tell him to go to bed and leave.

But yeah, lately it has been dawning on me how much fun I have NOT been having this semester. All my friends are off having bon fires and squirt fun fights and throwing pudding at each other. While my good days revolve around having decent surveys, my doctors appointment going well and people participating in my lessons.

I miss the days of sand dunes, bond fires and less responsibility. I miss having fun. =[

On the bright side, I slept in until 9am today, my doctors appointment went well, I got to go visiting teaching, get Garett some milk, went to Jamba (Catherine I am in LOVE with that Jamba card. You are the best!) and then got to spend a little time with Garett for a few minutes (I'm leaving homework out because there is nothing exciting or happy about doing homework).

Basically what I am saying is I cannot wait for this semester to be over and to have a real break for the first since last year in March.

In other news I found a preview of the first 6 chapters of Brandon Sanderson's new books The Alloy of Law for FREE. Garett quickly fell in love with it.
While I am starting to dive into the Mistborn series. =]

Also I found a gummy bear in my fruit snacks. (Don't judge me, fruit snacks are delicious). I then ate it and remembered how much I don't like gummy bears.
If only Steve were here to have eaten that gummy bear.
(Albert you better have gotten that joke!)

Okay off to finish a little homework. Have a lovely day folks!

I love cheese puffs
I wish I had cheese puffs
Too much salt in my spinach puffs?

The Attack of Appliances and Household Objects

These last 2 days have been ones of abuse and attack from the most unlikely predators.

It all started on a Saturday while trying to be a good sister and a good citizen I made my brother some lunch. Nothing too fancy, just grilled up some chicken, put it in a chicken, ranch and cheese wrap and served it to him. But while trying to get the chicken off the grill................BAM!!!! The lid of the grill smacked the back of my hand hitting a knuckle and another finger, leaving an inch long burn and a another burn spot on 2 of my fingers.

Thinking that I had learned my lesson to never to try and do another kind thing for anyone (because otherwise my grill would punish me for such behavior) I went on my way.

Later that night I went to open my drawer to get my tooth brush to clean my teeth before going to bed. Unfortunately I must have grabbed the wrong drawer because.............................................................BAZAAAAMMM! The drawer jumped out at me and ninja attacked my poor knee! Moments later a line across my knee began to swell and a lovely bruise appeared. Once again I hobbled off remembering to never mess with a sleeping drawer. I guess they don't like to be woken up.

After all was that was done I settled in for a movie with some friends. My eyes, which I am pretty sure are getting worse, were quite happy with me for wearing my glasses during the movie. The end arrived and I took my glasses to put them away. I picked up my glasses case, tried to open it and then..............................................WABAAAAAMMMMMMSHAAZZAAMMMMMMM! The glasses case jumped out of my hand and landed on my toes. A sudden throbbing was felt in 2 of my toes as I looked down to see them turn bright red. My eyes are clearly worse than I thought and my glasses case did not want to be fed. For a third and final time I walked to my room in a sad and painful state.

Sitting in bed I looked down to see 2 burn marks, a large bruise and several red toes making my body look quite sad and pathetic. "Sorry body" =( I thought as I pondered over my injuries. I guess I am not allowed to be kind to people, wake drawers up or feed glasses cases. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson.

I will always be mean, have bad breathe and be blind. Apparently that is what my home is saying to me anyway. Hopefully I am done screwing up so my body can recover without living in fear of more pain. Until (hopefully not another) next time, this is Megan reporting on Attacks of the Home.

Remember be nice to your
appliances and household
objects or they will get you!

When You Didn't Think You Could Sweat Anymore

First things first, some good ol' Bojangles.
Gotta. Wanna. Needa. Getta. Have A. Bojangles!

Or at least their fries with extra Bojangles seasoning.

Then one of the best places in all of NC:
The cutest gelato (Italian ice cream: 100000x better than American ice cream & extremely rich) shop you have ever seen.

The inside just screams happiness:
Well more like sings happiness. Not to mention the amazing Swedish woman who owns it. It's one of those shops where the owner knows all of her regular customers by name and whenever a family walks in, she seems to have known them for years. She is friends with everyone and everyone loves her. She doesn't have a website; her business comes all through word of mouth. I found it through a friend of mine and have passed it along to my friends. Next time you're in WS I hope you pay a visit, I promise you'll love it.

Sorry I got off on a tangent, my apologies my dear readers. But yes I went to Cafe Gelato with Kris and got pineapple and lemon. Perfect for a hot NC day.
Don't be fooled by how small it looks. It's more than you think and about as much as you can handle unless you're making a meal out of it.

And dearest Kris here looking gorgeous as ever.
Together her and I always have adventures. You can never be bored with Kris, that is for sure.

Next we found the Reynolda Gardens. I had heard of them many times before, but neither of us had been and we made a detour to discover what we were missing.
It was a beautiful site to behold despite the 100 degree weather with humidity to match.

And after a long day of exploring we decided to make dinner together (one of our favorite activities) On the menu? Salmon with a cinnamon glaze, along slices of green bell pepper, rice, red pepper humus and flat bread crisps.

And a cranberry/pomegranate juice to go along side.
Looks delicious doesn't it?
And it was!

Needless to say I had a great time with Kris as per usual.
What can I say? We bonded almost instantaneously and have been friends ever since.

Not pictured: Canoeing down the New River with my family.

It was an adventure of zigzagging down the river, picking up about a dozen spider passengers and then flinging them out of our canoe. Stopping to play in the river, getting waist deep in the water and then realizing you did not bring an extra set of clothes to change into later. And having your brother stand up in the canoe and paddle like you're on a gondola. Not to mention canoeing backwards (literally the canoe got flipped around a few times and so we would ride backwards until we got tired of it). But my favorite part by far was singing "The Call" by Regina Spektor A Capella with my brothers.

Also not pictured: Lunch at this cute little diner called Sweet and Savory. (Okay actually I do have a picture of it, but you can view it here later). But yes it was delicious and we were all impressed with it.

After having full bellies we made a quick stop to the cheese factory and store (which Albert was happy about). Where my dad got some nice sharp cheddar I believe and Albert got a cheese knife. See here. He is happy. =]

To end our travels we took a nice drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was cloudy, but beautiful nonetheless.
I love our blue mountains, they make me feel right at home.

On a side note I have a terrible obsession and addiction...
Not to soda, but to collecting bottle caps! What can I say? When I see a glass soda bottle and see a cap I do not currently own as a pair of earrings, I suddenly must have them! I now have 26 pairs of bottle cap earrings. Told you I am addicted....=]

Sorry, but Bojangles fries are just too heavenly that I must talk about them again.
Oh Southern food, why must you taste so good?

Speaking of good food, WS is home of Krispy Kreme, therefore; what kind of person would I be if I did not take advantage of such savory goodness while I was in NC?
I hope you're drooling right now because I am. Don't worry, I downed 6 of them on the spot with no questions asked and Schmidty laughing at me for being a fatty. 3 hot off the belt, the sprinkly one, a raspberry jelly filled one, and that one with chocolate icing and red and white spinkles aka the Cheerwine doughnut. It was delicious in case you were wondering.

Cheerwine + Krispy Kreme doughnut = One of the most brilliant ideas known to man!

This is Schmidty by the way. Aka Jon, Jonathan, Schmidt, Dave, etc.
Yes he is more than a foot taller than me.
Yes I am short and I like being that way.
And that ends my adventures in NC.

Until we meet again,
I big you adieu und Auf Wiedersehen!

Random Thoughts and Adventures From Dear Old North Carolina

Like I promised, I am now updating you on my adventures from the past week. They will not be in order as I am too lazy to rearrange these pictures and I will try to keep this short and sweet. Mostly because I want to go spend some time with my roommate/best friend. =] I've missed her this past week. So here we go....

This is Rachel! If you didn't know this then you should be smacked. Unless you're new to my blog, then I shall forgive you this once.

Anyway she has a super weird tongue and we spent a good 20 minutes letting her try to teach me how to do this with my tongue.
But alas, I cannot do it. =[ (Note: She is probably my most favorite person in the whole world outside my family. She is pretty much my twin and other half. But seriously, she can read my mind, it's amazing and a TAD scary.....but MOSTLY amazing).

She can also lick her elbow in 3 different ways. (She's double jointed in her elbow) Cool huh?

And all around I pretty much love her to death. Carolina Girls rock! =]

And laugh till we pee our pants and then crash. I guess we had a little TOO much Cheerwine and candy....
Don't judge me. I can act like I'm 5 again if I want to. xP

Later on I got to hang out with my Trio of Hannah, Lizzy and myself. And we found out Hannah can stand on her toes!
She's a weirdo, that's why I love her! =D

And if Lizzy bounces up and down, her dog jumps too.
It was pretty funny to watch.
Flying dog ninja attack!

This is what I love about NC:
GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN!!!!
Plus this is one of my favorite roads to drive down. It twists and turns through a canopy of trees. Not to mention passing gorgeous houses with a watermill attached to one of them. And it leads to Kris's house. =] (more about those adventures later).

Look what we found the evening I flew in!
Heaven sent! I have an obsession with restaurants/food/drinks that can only be found on the East Coast or just in North Carolina.

This is my baby brother. Since no one thinks Albert and I look alike, does anyone think Aaron (below) and I look alike?
My sweet little brother is slowly becoming a man. 16 and legs hairy enough to be a bear's legs.
Love you bud!

This is my other brother! Yes we ARE related. Seriously.
Anyway, we updated his wardrobe while I was in NC. Doesn't he look so studly?

My friend Gulledge taught Lizzy and I to spray paint. Needless to say we had a great time! Of course I myself became a work of art too. And spray paint does NOT come off with water....

But it does with acetone. =]

Ha this all happened in my 2nd and 3rd full days of being in NC.
What can I say? I like weird and crazy things.
I recommend trying all of this.
So go lick your elbow,
pass out from too much Cheerwine and candy,
stand on your toes,
dance/jump with your dog,
spray paint yourself and your canvas (whatever that may be)
dress up your brother,
take a drive,
eat amazing food found only in your local area
and have fun!

Have adventures
everyday!

Busy Busy Bumblebee!

Today was pretty intense. I got up a few hours before class to do homework. I did a bit of reading before going to my BoM class. My teacher wasn't there due to a death in the family, but our class went on and we all went around talking about our favorite scripture from the reading assignment we had. I have to say, it was one of the best classes we have had all semester. And it was cool that we were able to hold class without the teacher, gotta love BYU-I =D

After class I was SUPPOSED to do more reading but Tyler (One of Albert's roommates) dropped by to get some laces for his Adidas. (Yes Aaron now I know you think he's awesome and you're right). Is it weird that I find that guys who wear Adidas are pretty much the coolest people ever? It's true though. Anyway, he didn't even bring the shoes with them so we couldn't figure out if they would fit so he just sat and talked with Nikki and I for an hour and a half. And apparently he had stopped by earlier when I was in class.

In happy news I finished my last Art Seminar for the semester! YAY! Only 10 more between fall and spring and I'm done forever. =] And I got some reading done in that class. Am I not so clever?

I cam back and tried to find Taleea's bachelorette party, but I couldn't. =[ So I stayed for most of Jaide's birthday party. Lots of cute guys, awesome? Yes.

We had decided to go play Fugitive, but then Camilla called and said she was in town and was sad I missed the party. But she invited me over for a bit and I made Scott drop me off. I GOT TO SEE CAMILLA COOMBS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEVERAL YEARS!!!!! She's probably about 5'7" now, gorgeous as ever and talks a lot like Taleea, but even more bubbly and hyper. It was WONDERFUL to see her again and catch up on old times. She wants to come to BYU-I next year =D =D =D I'm excited!!!

A bit later her and Jessica were going to watch a movie though so I left. But I didn't want to go home to my creepy, dark, empty apartment so I went to Albert's instead. I hung out with him and Eric, until Tyler and Stirling came home. They wanted to go to my apartment and invited me along......I had never been invited to my own home before.....but I went. And we spent the rest of the night, until curfew just chatting at my apartment.

I tried to get them to come back for cake later, but Tyler said he'd already been to my apartment 3 times today. Man those girls on the 2nd floor are going to be so jealous! (After devo last week these 2 girls gave Tyler a hard time for not visiting them all the time, then asked Nikki and I if we were the reason he came to Mountain Pines all the time, I don't think they like Nikki and I....)

Oh and Stirling got his call to Argentina! Cool huh? That's where my friend Brent is right now. But there are several missions in Argentina, so PROBABLY not the same one. Still cool though. =]

Other than that, not too much going on. My day was pretty crazy, and now I am off to sleep.

Sparklers on a cake?
Not the best idea...
Also sticking a lit match
in your mouth....
Don't do it!

Skills of a Moose

In the past week I have somehow managed to injure myself repeatedly. I think my subconscious is mad at me.

I burned 2 of my fingers on the frying pan making chicken.

My hand got scratched when playing with Moose (my roommate's sister's dog).

I got grass rash from playing with said dog.

Burned the bottom of my foot walking across the pavement home from church.

And did this to my finger while trying to put on a skirt:

And this picture makes it look pretty.

(Story behind the title of this post is that when we were going to go get the puppy and play in the park, our friend Matt thought my roommates were referring to me as "Moose" from some strange reason. So I am Moose apparently O.o)

So yeah my subconscious hates me. Oh well.

On a side note we had story time last night! A different friend of ours named Matt decided to read to Apt 309, me, Nikki, the other Matt and Stirling and some other random passersby.
And I got sat on by Stirling, so thoughtful.
We heard "Wodney the Wat" and "The Missing Piece Meets the Big O".
It was lovely =]
The end!

Just kidding.
I went and got to hang out with Albert for a little bit and chat it up with him =D =D =D
And then his roommates gave me food and drink.
They are nice.
The End (again).

Can this semester never end?
And let's start calling koolaid "drink"
Want a pot of hot koolaid?
I made this for you!

I Just Came To Say Hello

This weekend has been incredible! Everything about it was wonderful! I will do my best to give you a run down of it without leaving out too much.

Friday I went to the temple and it was wonderful, best way to start off a day. Not to mention the weather was lovely. Then that night, Kaylin, Tyler M, Jaide, Emily, Tyler B, Stirling, Nikki and I went and saw X:Men First Class at the drive-in. I recommend seeing it! =D

After a lovely time watching the movie, we (minus Tyler M and Kaylin) went to Porter Park. We swung on the swings, played freeze tag, where I slid and fell from being chased by Stirling (like I said, don't try to back track in flats on wet grass...not smart). I died laughing when I ate it, and it was completely worth the stains.

We sort of attempted the whipped cream game and it landed on my forehead. Good thing it was dark and no one could see too well.

Saturday like I said, I had 2 photoshoots. One of Cacia and her roommates and then one of Camilo's friend. Check out the ones of Cacia and her friends here. They were dressed as fairies and a blast to work with. More will be put up later. I'm still working on downsizing my favorites list. Went from 672 to 152. Getting there slowly but surely. For the record, these are unedited. I have this thing where I believe pictures should be as natural as they can be and only minor touch ups should be made.

This is one of my favorites. This is an all natural picture, no editing done.
(Below: Andrea and Stephanie, click to enlarge, it looks better bigger)

And this is my other favorite. This is Cacia and Stephanie.

But yes, taking pictures was heaven to me. I love everything about it. Working with the people, trying new things and loving it all. I just wish I didn't have back problems making me have to quit after 5 hours of taking pictures, but still worth every minute of it.

Today we had church, though I had a hard time staying awake. After church Albert and I had dinner with our cousin Stephanie and her husband. It was lots of fun and the food was heavenly. We played hacky sack, some wii and did a puzzle (I thought of you mom <3).

Then I came back home for Sunday Night Dessert (SND) where we had more people than ever before and made homemade oreos. Fun was had by all but the real fun was when the numbers died off. Matt tricked Brett into eating a cookie filled with Crisco instead of icing. Brett ate it all. It was quite enjoyable to watch.

I gave 2 guys, Matt B (Not pictured) and Tom Bugg (He's one of those people you have to say his first and last name, just the way it is) piggy back rides. Matt is easily 150lbs I think and Tom is not far behind him. Yes I gave THEM piggy back rides. Who is beasty? That's right, ME!!!

They were impressed and so was I. Then Tom gave Nikki and I a piggy back ride together and then Matt gave all 3 of us a piggy back ride. We are full of beastiness! =D

After settling down somewhat, Matt, Tom, Conrade, Emily, Nikki, Jaide and I all sat around talking about our biggest fears and terrible/funny experiences. It was a blast!

All in all tonight was wonderful and this weekend was amazing. Best weekend ever!

Hope you all had equally amazing ones

I just came
to say hello
and eat some Crisco

Another What A Great Day!

I had 2 photoshoots today back to back and let me tell you, there are few things in this world that make me happier than taking pictures. I had a wonderful time shooting Cacia and her roommates. They were a blast to work with, as well as doing headshots for Camilo's friend for her dance thing.

After at least 5 hours of taking pictures, then coming back to have a wonderful evening chatting it up with my roommates and Albert stopping by, and gorgeous weather. Oh and Skyping Hannah and Lizzy. Today was amazing! Almost as good as yesterday, but still amazing none the less.

Have to laughed
until you cried
today? I hope so!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Not that being 19 is anything particularly special but all the same I am grateful for my 19 years of life and my wonderful parents that gave me life and a GREAT one at that. Thank you mom and dad! Also for all of my siblings even though Albert originally wanted me to be a boy...I forgive you Albert and I hope I've made up for that with all the cookies I've been making lately.....if you even got any of them.....O.o I'm sorry your roommates are all fatties, despite your twiggy figures.....skinniest group of boys/men I EVER did see! O.o

Anyway, yes it is my birthday and I am running on very little sleep, but that is because I got to go to the temple today with my ward. How wonderful! Can you think of a better way to spend the morning of your birthday? Sadly I missed humanities because I didn't get out until 8am (my class starts at 7:45 and it's at LEAST a 10 minute walk there with your hair wet....yeah......

So I went home and took a nap and then went to English. I know, not very exciting.....

But it's okay! My roommates entertained me with a water fight.....MOSTLY outside of our apartment......just don't sit on our carpet and you won't notice.....yeeahh.......and tonight my roommates and some friends and I are going to see the new X:Men at the drive-in theater here =D I'm excited! And we MIGHT make cake before hand? Who knows. O.o

Yeah I don't really do the party thing. I'm older and all the birthday wishes make me feel as special as I want to feel. I kind of have some problems with being the center of everyone's attention.....I don't like it.

But yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! Sorry to all those that I can't be with to share my special day with but you are all in my heart and I think of you often.

Love you all! Thanks for making me feel special, without y'all I wouldn't be the person I am today.

Have a wonderful day!

Noah and the Whale.
I am addicted!

Pets Are People Too

This weekend has been one of the best weekends all semester, maybe by far THE best weekend of the semester? Why you may ask? Because of 4 reasons, family, puppies, friends and perfect weather.

Saturday Catherine and Jesse came to visit and Albert came over and the 4 of us went on a picnic.

Below is Albert in front of the Rexburg, Idaho temple.Yay for big brothers!

And of course my dear pregnant sister, Catherine =]
She thinks she is Asian...
And Jesse did not want to be photographed =[

Party pooper! xP It's okay, we still love him.

After a wonderful picnic with everything delicious and no spills, we took Catherine and Jesse to the I-Center to show them our "small and moderate" renovations to the campus. (P.S. It looks like a mini version of the conference center and holds 15,000 I believe, See below).I sit on this far left section, up towards the front normally for devotional (from 2-3pm every Tuesday).

And after a lovely day of fun, they departed back to where they were staying.

Sunday, however; Emily brought her sister's puppy over to play for the day. His name is Moose!

And Kaylin climbed up the balcony and caught Mini Wheats in her mouth from the floor above.

Isn't he so cute? (Please ignore the pasty leg that may or may not be mine...)

We played fetch with him, and ran with him.

And cuddled him when he was tired.

And made him soar like Superman!

He has this thing that when Emily laid down, he had to go lay by her head. I am not quite sure why, but it was cute.

I played with him lots!

Catherine and Jesse came for awhile and played with us, but alas they had to return back to Provo. =[ but I will see them in 6 months time.

On a happier note, Nikki and I made cookies.

And a guy in our ward stopped by and asked if we were coming to make s'moreos (s'mores in oreos) but we were not invited, so he invited us. We said we might came after we finished baking.

But since we didn't come over right away, he brought us a s'moreo and it was delicious!

And then we gave him a hot out of the oven cookie.

But then didn't want the rest of said cookies.

So we took them over to Albert's apartment.

He would've gotten more if he had been home when we said he would, so Nikki and I waited around for an hour until he got home. No worries, his roommates kept us entertained.

Nikki left after 45 minutes, but I continued to be entertained by apartment 203 (Albert's apartment) until him and Eric showed up.....with their nails painted.....

.....no comment.....

Needless to say, I quickly went back to my apartment and brought back acetone and cotton balls.....

And then enjoyed hanging out over there until curfew and I had to return to my home.

But all in all it was a great day.

I was able to spend most of the day outside and have lots of fun with family and friends.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

I woke up 13 minutes before class started today
I got ready and left in 3 minutes.
Made it to class with 4 minutes to spare.
I am thankful for a roommate that wakes me up!
Love ya Nikki!

Guilt Trip

So I felt bad for not posting any pictures on here yesterday due to having so many to choose from and so I cheated and just gave you a link. But I feel some of the pictures need some explanations.

This first picture was not in my album but this was at Nikki's friend, Toms' apartment. You can imagine how happy it made me. =D Until someone came by to ask for whiteout and the wind or the door opening knocked all the cans down.

Also that same day, while hanging out with Nikki and Tom, Tom bet that I could not drink a container of garlic butter and lick it clean in under 2 minutes.

I did.

And I got a free 2-liter of Mountain Dew out of it.

Given I had garlic breathe for 2 days straight.

Nor worries, it is gone now.

Yesterday as y'all know was Easter and my roommates and I had a big feast!

It was quite festive looking.

My roommates and I made ham, potatoes, corn and had pineapple and rolls. Along with "sparkling cider" (aka 7-up and apple juice) and Koolaid (for us southern people).
(From left to right: Me, Jaide, Emily, Kaylin, Nikki. Jacquelyn went home for the weekend)

Pictures provided by the lovely Albert Sebright =D
Also that is Kaylin's cousin, Tanner creeping there off to the right.

After dinner we had Sunday Night Desserts!

We made Tye-dye cupcakes!

And this is how you make um =D
You have to split your cake batter into 5 or more different bowls and then add food coloring.

(Intervention!)

Below you will see Brett making a strange sign....

This was the sign I was talking about. If you make that sign at someone, they must do a backwards somersault.

But if they break your sign, you have to do 3 backwards somersaults.

Jaide and Emily ended up doing backwards somersaults most of the night.
(See Emily below)

Back to cupcakes!

Then you poor a little of each color into the pan.
Like so.

You can tell the guys helped with the pouring...

And then you bake um and POOF!

You have Tye-dye cupcakes!

And this is what they look like when you bite into them.
Awesome right?

And this is Tyler and Kaylin. (Tyler is Kaylin's boyfriend)
So he is around our apartment MOST of the time.

I think they are pretty cute.
This is them showing of the yellow cornstarch/water mustaches.

All in all, the was fun had by all!

I recommend trying this sometime. Invite a handful of friends over, tell them each to bring an ingredient and all work together to make a treat. You get to meet some new people and have lots of fun along the way. Don't forget to play a game or two.

Happy belated Easter! (Unless you're from Canada, then it still is Easter).
